"Oakleigh Pasture Pork" is produced from free range pigs grazing on natural pastures at "Oakleigh" Kelvin Rd, Gunnedah NSW. The farm is 400 acres of natural grasses and improved pastures and is located 500km NW of Sydney. The main breeds are Large White Landrace cross with Berkshire, Wessex Saddleback, English Large Black and Duroc.
The main objective at "Oakleigh" is to provide a stress free natural environment with all piglets being born outside in either farrowing huts or a grass nest built by their mothers. They remain with their litter mates from birth to market, maintaining a happy social group for the entire time spent at "Oakleigh". and the Pigs are free to roam paddocks from 10-20 acres. " The combination of the cross heritage pig breeds produces a succulent tasting product that reflects the natural surroundings in which the pigs have been raised.
